Cotton Ginner / Assistant Ginner - Wee Waa

Our Cotton Gin facilities receive and process raw cotton to remove cottonseed and compress clean lint into cotton bales ready for export. Providing high-quality services, operational excellence and cultivating long-lasting relationships is at the core of our business.

 

About the opportunity

We are looking for hard working and reliable individuals for permanent Assistant Ginner and Ginner positions at our Wee Waa Gin. In these roles you will be part of a small team and be involved in all aspects of cotton ginning operations including but not limited to:

  • supervising a seasonal team of workers during day or night shift
  • monitor production, conduct preventative maintenance and resolve breakdowns promptly to ensure downtime is minimized
  • ensure safe systems of work and sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision is provided for optimal health and safety

What you need to bring

If you have ginning experience, we’d of course love to hear from you! But we’d also encourage you to apply if you’re a tradie (or equivalent) and have experience in other industries. We can train you!

 

You will also need to be:

  • mechanically minded
  • safety-aware and have fitness to handle long shifts during the season
  • hard-working and resilient
  • eager to learn and able to think on your feet and troubleshoot
  • respectful and able to interact with people from many diverse cultures
  • responsible and take ownership for outcomes by working well with the broader team

To be successful in this role you will also be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug screen.
