Successful applicants must be flexible with availability. These operations are likely to run a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week roster. Shifts will be from 7am-7pm, or 7pm-7am. You need to be capable of working a roster that includes up to 11 consecutive days/nights of 12 hour shifts. Pay is in accordance with the Award where penalty rates and shift work premiums apply.

Positions available include: Bag/Press Operators, Plant Cleaners, Grablift/Moonbuggy Operators, Forklift and Truck Drivers and Weighbridge Operators. 

Heavy vehicle/fork lift licence and machinery/mobile equipment operation experience will be highly regarded and is essential for some roles. A full site induction and training is provided.

In 2026 Queensland Cotton will operate 6 cotton processing gins throughout Central QLD, Darling Downs, South West QLD and Regional NSW. Separate applications are required for each location.

About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Leading Hand to join our fast‑paced warehouse operation at the Dalby Cotton Gin. This hands‑on role is ideal for an operator who enjoys leading by example, working safely, and supporting seasonal teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes in a busy cotton warehousing environment.

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will assist with the coordination of daily warehouse activities, supervise seasonal employees, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with DAFF requirements and site procedures.

About you

To be successful you'll bring:

• Experience in a fast-moving warehouse role (agriculture or cotton industry highly regarded)
• Current forklift licence (required)
• AQIS certification or ability to obtain (required)
• Prior experience in a Leading Hand or Team Lead capacity (highly regarded) 
• Great work ethic, reliable and a positive attitude
• Be a team player
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with data systems

You will need to be flexible in relation to hours worked which include night shift (7pm - 5am) during the season, day shift (7am - 4pm) outside of the season, plus Saturdays depending on operational requirements.
